Welcome to the Arts Living-Learning Community at MSU!

Dear Future Spartans, Parents, and Students,

On behalf of the College of the Arts & Letters (CAL) and the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities (RCAH), we invite you to join MSU’s new Arts Living-Learning Community. This exciting new endeavor builds on the University’s existing strengths in the arts by establishing an undergraduate community of creative-minded and arts-focused students living together in Snyder-Phillips Hall. The Arts Living-Living Learning Community brings students, from across majors, together to create a critical mass of creativity at MSU.

The purpose of Arts Living-Learning Community is to elevate your undergraduate experience by offering access to co-curricular arts programming and interdisciplinary arts facilities. Moreover, it  is an intentional community where students will—by connecting with visiting artists and their peers—learn how the arts can address grand challenges of the 21st century, such as environmental degradation, healthcare inequities, and civic dissolution.

If you are a current or incoming student at MSU with an interest in Theatre, Film Studies, Creative Writing, African American and African Studies, Art and Design, Creative Writing, or the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities (RCAH), you can choose the Arts Living-Learning Community by selecting it on your housing application.

We are currently welcoming our first group of students for Fall 2023. Please join us and be part of the artistic avant garde at MSU.
